Impressive Stairs & Hallways

Whether your home is traditional or contemporary, large or not so large, getting the look of the hallway right is essential. It is the space that sets the mood and feel of the rest of the house. It’s your chance to make a first impression and express your character, as it says to everyone who visits “This is me, this is my style.”

Like the dining room, the hallway is a room where you can really go to town if you want to; as it’s a space you pass through rather than linger in, so you won’t quickly tire of it. To make a bold statement use stronger tones of paint, or better still a striking paper. To keep things cool and relaxed use softer colours such as taupe or stone. Thoughtfully relocating furnishings around the home and the addition of carefully selected new 'statement' items can dramatically change the whole ambience. In this home the mirror was resprayed silver and moved to the bedroom. The sofa was reupholstered and the traditional tables replaced with contemporary perspex. The addition of cooler tones, new lighting and window dressing produced a more spacious and lighter look whilst still retaining the elegant grandure of the period property.
