A good piece of furniture really is a joy to own, whether it be a fabulously comfortable sofa or a superbly stylish dining table and chair set. For me though, design of any kind is only good when it meets two criteria: the piece in question must of course look good, but it must also fulfil its function. By that I mean that a sofa may be as crisp and chic as you will ever see, but if when you sit down you may as well be sitting on a crate of oranges, then for me it has failed.
