Consultation Service

There are basically two types of Interior Designers; those who will charge you for their time, both when they are with you and whilst they are researching your project, and those who make their living from what they supply to you. At John Charles Interiors we fall into the latter category.

We are of course always pleased to welcome you to our fully equipped showroom in Edgbaston, Birmingham where you'll find a vast array of pattern books and swatches and where you are free to browse at your leisure.

We often find that many of our clients benefit from our consultation service. Our serice starts with John or another of our designers visiting you at home to view the room or rooms you are planning to change. This enables them to take in the aspect and available natural light of the room(s), determine the initial measurements and assess your needs taking into account any existing items you wish to incorporate into your new scheme.

We then go back to the showroom and work on your our proposal, which we present to you at a mutually convenient time. We always prepare at least three schemes per room, which can then be modified if necessary on presentation. If, as happens on rare occasions, you are not completely happy with our first set of proposed schemes we will be pleased to prepare and present further schemes, based on the feedback from our initial presentation.

We do not charge an hourly rate, or indeed anything other than a small fee to cover our initial expenses. This is currently £65 per room for one or two rooms, or a flat rate of £200 for more than two rooms..
